OneGameAMonth – Game Development Motivation

September 13, 2013 17:15

Gaming – whether you are playing or developing them, it’s always an exciting journey. I enjoy developing games as much I like playing, so I decided to start developing games as an Indie. As a part timer most of my games were unfinished, even getting an Google Play Store account didn’t motivate me. Most of the ideas are still on paper.

That is when at start of 2013 I came across the site called OneGameAMonth.com, a site where everyone invited to create games, finished games, that too every month. It’s crazy as they suggest but possible. Soon I got on to the site, took up the challenge. The developer community on OneGameAMonth provides you with enough encouragement that you are motivated not only to create games but finish them.

The games can be on simplest idea possible, any platform, any language choice is yours. Do visit the site to check out some awesome games, developer and follow the @McFunkypants & @OneGameAMonth on twitter to dive into the pool.

So after around 9 month I am happy (not satisfied though) that I have managed to finish at least 3 games and a port all to Android and to Chrome Web Store. I even managed to submit a game for js13kGames contest. My OneGameMonth Profile

Following are the links for the game.
